Great masters don't just sound loud, they sound right. There's a difference between a mix that's finished and one that's truly ready, that pinnacle is where Refinery Mastering lives.

Every track that comes through gets careful, focused attention. Critical listening happens before anything gets adjusted, because great mastering starts with understanding what a song is trying to do. The goal isn't to impose a sound, it's to bring out the one that's already there.

Whether it's headed for streaming, cd, vinyl, or film, and whatever genre it lives in, the result is the same: your music sounding like the best version of itself.

Cooper Heise

Owner/Chief Engineer - Refinery Audio L.L.C.

After pursuing a degree in Music Technology, Cooper established Refinery Mastering, a self-owned and operated audio mastering studio.

Before that, he gained hands-on experience working at studios across the country — including the world-renowned Blackbird Studio in Nashville — learning every role in the music production process from the ground up. That foundation shaped the way he approaches every project: with the patience, perspective, and ears of someone who understands what goes into a record before it ever reaches mastering.

At Refinery Mastering, the workflow combines analog processing with digital precision. Analog hardware brings a warmth and character to a master that's difficult to replicate any other way, and it's a deliberate part of how every track gets treated here.

Cooper specializes in mastering across genres, with one goal in mind — making your music sound the way it was always meant to.
